A GOOD SOLID WEEK IN THE MISIÓN : )

HELLO AMERICA!!!

Well Monday has come once again and the time is just flying by here in Chile. On Saturday it was the one month anniversary of the earthquake and that is crazy. It seems like it was just a week ago but then again, the area I´m in now wasn't that affected so it's just kind of fading from reality and into memory now. Which is a good thing because I have finally gotten completely back into the swing of normal missionary work. Yay! haha. I mean the week before last week was good but it was weird readjusting but now contacting, teaching, testifying, and following the schedule and once again having it become second nature.

Anyways so my last week wasn't extremely exciting (in comparison to recent events) but it was a great week. We contacted a lot, we found a lot of good new and potential new investigators, we taught a lot, and we had some pretty good spiritual experiences. A good solid week in the misión :). One good spiritual experience I had was that I gained a stronger testimony of fasting. So we have two investigators that have a baptismal date for the 10th of April and they are both awesome. When we went to teach one of them, Irma, a lady in her late fifties, the lesson went well but she told us that she couldn't come this week to church because her husband was going to work in the campo and she had to stay home to watch their severely mentally handicapped son. So there was no way she could go. And that got us really worried because if she didn't go that week we couldn't baptize her this cambio, which would mean that one of us wouldn't be there for her baptism. So we promised her that if she had faith and prayed that the Lord would place somebody in her path to watch her son for her while she went to church. She didn't seem very optimistic but she told us she would try.

So the next day we prayed a lot and had a 24 hour fast that she might find someone to watch her son. At the end of the week it still wasn't looking very good but we didn't give up hope and when we went to visit her Saturday night she was very content and happy to tell us that her husband's work called him and out of the blue told him that he didn't have to go in to work so he could stay while Irma went to church. Her faith was strengthened a lot because she told us that her husband's work has never done that before. So it was a cool spiritual experience for my companion and I and our inverstigator and was a real testimony to me on the power of prayer and the power of the fast.

We also had four investigators in church and found and taught a bunch of other good new people that look like they´ll keep progressing and go to church this coming Sunday. We have also had some great experiences hitch hiking this last week because every night we have to hitch hike from Monte Águila to Cabrero and it usually always turns into a good teaching opportunity. Even though hitch hiking has been fun, we are stoked because it looks like we´ll be moving into a house in Monte Águila this next week. So that will get rid of our commuting problem and we are excited to have our own house. The Elders we are living with are great but are having a little more trouble adjusting back to normal missionary life after the earthquake and have been a little bit of a distraction in the house with their schedule and their music. But we are moving next week so it's all good :).

Also on Saturday morning we had a Branch activity with the jóvenes and went into the forest that surrounds Monte Águila to pick black berries. Because that's what they do here in the summer, pick black berries haha. It's fun being back in a little pueblo again, definitely wouldn't want to live here but I love working here. Well I got to go everybody but I love you all and make sure to remember me in your prayers because prayers work! Love you all and I love this Gospel and teaching it. Ok until next week chao! And look for missionary moments.
